What's Our Mission
The mission is to support the democratic movement in Iran by creating a professional network of musicians who work together to advocate on the behalf of persecuted musicians in Iran, fight the Iranian government censorship of music and the discrimination toward women artists. This guild also showcases a democratic work by democratic framework and creating a collaborative environment among Iranians.
Principles
Democratic Structure
All positions will be open to members to be elected to and will have term limits.
Nonpartisan Approach
This group is not affiliated with any political party, ideology or a political figure. This group will keep an unbiased approach toward any opposition groups of the Islamic Republic. This guild can not issue a statement against or in support of any political groups, organizations, or individuals. This does not apply to the Iranian government and its affiliated entities.
Goals
- Advocacy for musicians arrested in Iran.
- Advocacy against the IRI’s bad policies, such as music censorship, women artists' rights, and musicians' arrests.
- Networking among members through events.
- Educating the public for more funding, supportive statements from governments, and the need for specific sanctions.
- Small projects: producing podcasts, music, and raising awareness
- Working on the sustainability of the group.
- Define one or two moonshot projects: securing funding for Iran or organizing significant events.
